Finding Solutions: It takes a village
posted by admin in Special Needs ResourcesHi, I’m René, one of the co-founders of TheWaitingRoom.net. I’ll be writing this blog that is tentatively named, “René’s blog” (until someone comes up with a better name)…send me ideas for topics you’d like covered, resources you’d like reviewed, or just share your thoughts.
Finding Solutions: It takes a village
If you are reading this blog, likely you are a parent or a caregiver of a child who has special needs. We want this site to be that “cyber village” that helps you navigate resources, find ideas and swap information that you have used in parenting a child with special needs.
Most people gather these resources over years, we want to make all of our collective wisdom available 24/7 and keep adding to it everyday, every hour, every minute.
This site is created by you, for you and monitored by you to help other parents and caregivers in a similar situation find information quickly through word of mouth from a parent in your community.
Chances are, there is someone else in your community that has faced a problem that you are facing now, or there is someone right now that needs a resource that you have used…this exchange of information is where the “It takes a cyber village” concept comes into play.
And with that, I hope you will visit often and stay a while in The Waiting Room.

Thank you for publishing this website. We parents need to band together to help each other find the best resources for our children. It’s such a jungle out there and may times I have lost faith in the professionals when dealing with my child. I’m glad there’s a resource where we can research our topic in one place. Thank you.

I also appreciate a parents POV because we know our kiddos needs better than any professional. Thanks for a job well done!
