Question: we are looking at schools right now and do not feel that public school is the right direction for our daughter. we are trying to search for financial aide and scholarships/grants for private schools that are appropriate for her needs but we are having a super difficult time. any resources for funding would be greatly appreciated. thanks, leah

Have you contacted the private schools that interest you for their financial aide packages and/or advice about how to find funding? Also, I recommend that you call/visit the Texas State DARS library. See the government programs category for their contact information. Have you considered any charter school programs. Somethimes these programs offer more support for kids with challenges and they may offer smaller classes. Plus, charter schools are free! Best of luck to you.

thanks for the advise. we have contacted the school and tey do give partial tuition but no more than half which we still cannot afford unfortunately. i will look into the government site you recommended. we looked at some charter schools but feel she really needs a speech and language school because her communication is very difficult to understand. thanks again, leah

Leah - I am wondering what you have decided as far as schooling situation for your daughter? We are exploring our options as we feel that the public school may not be the best setting for our 6 years old son with autism.
