Question: We're relocating to Austin and are looking for a school for our 5-year-old daughter who has Asperger's Syndrome. We've heard wonderful things about the Zilker School. Does anyone have any feedback about the school to share positive or negative?

I have not heard anything about Zilker School but my son who is 2 1/2 with Down Syndrome goes to Sammy's house (sammyshouse.org) and we LOVE IT. I do believe that Isabel who is the owner has a son with Asperger's Syndrome. They are currently enrolling and We LOVE IT. If you would like more info please feel free to email me or call me. Hi We have a 5 year old with high functioning autism (which even Neurologists say in his case resembles Aspergers). We are recommended for kinder with support in RRISD (Laurel Mtn) but are also looking at Austin ISD schools as we plan to move south. I have heard good things about Zilker, Highland Park, Doss, and Hill elementaries. We will probably have to consider summer preschool placement with some camps or sports to supplement. I'd love to know how it works out for you and perhaps have a chance to meet with the kids this summer. Fran in NW Austin
