Question: I was wondering if there was a list of recommended preschools for my son who needs a transitional kindergarden for the fall. Academically, he is above average--but needs help socially and emotionally, along with his play skills and language delay (although doing fabulously in speech therapy). Could anyone recommend some places that I could put my name on their list? Thank you so very much!

The public school districts have PPCD programs that are intended as preschool transitional classrooms where your son may receive direct support for his social and emotional needds. If you see the school district web sites or call their administrative offices, you can get information about which campuses run these programs. Also, some of the schools listed under the Schools category on this site offer preschool programs. See, http://www.specialneedsneighborhood.com/welcome/view_cat/19. For example, Open Door, St. Nicohlas, Capitol School. Another preschool/daycare program located in Round Rock is Emerson Academy. The web site is: www.emerson-academy.com.
