PACED Behavior provides Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) services to children with a variety of disorders including autism spectrum disorders [i.e., autism, pervasive developmental disorder-not otherwise specified (PDD-NOS), Asperger’s Syndrome], mental retardation, cerebral palsy, ADHD, and developmental delays. Therapy focuses on functional skills including academic, communication, challenging behavior, education, daily living skills, and social skills. Parent and professional training is also available. Dr. Berenice de la Cruz is the owner and executive director of PACED Behavior, LLC. She has been working with children with disabilities for nine years in both home and school settings. She has worked as an in-home applied behavior analysis therapists and consultant, teacher, educational consultant, behavior specialist, and assistant program director and program director of a non-profit school for children with communication disorders. Dr. de la Cruz holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from The University of Texas at El Paso and a Doctorate degree in Special Education with a specialization in autism and developmental disabilities from The University of Texas at Austin. She is also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctorate (BCBA-D). Dr. de la Cruz has published several peer-reviewed research articles and co-authored several book chapters in the fields of developmental disabilities, addictive behaviors, and social cognition.
