All three of my children have gone to Dr. Bert Vasut since 1996.  He is very good with both typical kids and kids with disabilities.  He also has an outstanding staff.  Dr. Vasut has taken a low-key approach with my son with autism, and that has worked very well for us.  Every six months he looks at my son’s teeth and if they look clean and healthy, that’s that.  About ten years ago, we went to the day-surgery center so that Dr. Vasut could extract some teeth to relieve crowding.  While my son was under, Dr. Vasut did a deep cleaning and put on sealants.  More recently, he took a panoramic x-ray (very easy and painless) and discovered that J had two wisdom teeth beneath the surface of his gums.  When those teeth need to come out (probably in a year or two), J will go under anasthesia and have another deep cleaning along with the extraction.  I don’t know which dental insurance plans Dr. Vasut accepts, but you might be able to find out at www.drbertvasut.com.

My son who has an ASD has been going to Dr. Vasut for over 4 years now. He is fabulous. Also love that he does not use silver amalgams. (mercury)

My children have been patient's of Dr. Vasut for 10 years. I echo the sentiments of annh - both he and his staff are wonderful with both my son with PDD and my typical kids.
