Spectrum is a new business that attempts to fill the huge need for social skills training.  My 22-year-old son participates in a weekly “Lunch Bunch” there.  Here is what he has to say:  “lunch bunch is great! players cook and eat. we plan our menus and do all the work. many happy times in there.” Even though my son has very limited communication skills the Spectrum staff members make sure he is engaged at all times.  They strive to form small groups of compatible individuals, most of whom have an autism spectrum disorder.  At this point, Spectrum is private pay only.  I can’t say enough good things about their program.

SpectrumSocial is the best option I have ever found for providing social skills training. My 16 year old daughter participates in a girl's group and a coed group each week and just loves it! The staff @ SpectrumSocial is top-notch.

Spectrum's Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists (CTRS) provide Recreation Therapy services to clients with social communication challenges including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and Non-Verbal Learning Disorder. We help students access community and recreation activities that they might otherwise not experience. We believe that by expanding client's repetoire of recreational activities, we help expand their social world as well. Spectrum accepts private pay and CLASS clients at this time.

My 8 year old son just started at Spectrum. I can tell that this group of therapists working with the social groups really understands autism and related disorders. I have heard wonderful reviews from other parents whose kids have been going there longer.
