She is definitely worth the wait. She is our “central hub” that collects all of the data from the different specialists that see our child and analyzes it. She is very thorough and patient. She spent 2 hours with us and never looked at her watch. Wow.

Finally, a doctor who truly and actively listened to me. I have to agree, she was very patient, very accomodating, and not once did I feel that she was rushing us through her office. All of my kids loved her (not just my ASD child) she has a fabulous bedside manner and made me feel comfortable. I also felt that my observations and opinions really meant something to her. I highly recommend Dr. Del Angel as well.

Buyer Beware! Dr. del Angel offices at the hospital clinic. The hospital bills office visits as outpatient services versus clinical services so you are charged a huge fee. Also, if you have insurance, your carrier will apply your deductible for hospital services to this bill. If you have not met your deductible for hospital services for the year, you will face this hefty bill alone! For us, this 30 minute office visit cost over $300.00!

Yes, she was wonderful. I agree with the person who said that she spent HOURS and never cared what time it was. That was true, and she indeed never looked at her watch. When my son seemed to need some fresh air and a change of scene, she took us out to the little playground and sat with us in the heat! LOL. I don't even care about the billing issue the other poster mentioned; it was worth the hours we spent, and certainly worth the "it's not autism" verdict, but even if the opinion had been different, I'd feel the same. She was so kind and caring and listened to my husband and I so intently, and made sure we both got to talk (because our opinions differed a lot!). We did wait in an exam room about 1/2 hour or 40 minutes and it just about drove me over the edge (because I was already so anxious) BUT she is so good, I can see why the wait. The only other thing that bugged me a little was that her WONDERFUL nurse asked us some questions, and then the doc asked us the same ones minutes later. I think that there just isn't time to read everything! But the doc took so many of her OWN notes and she was just so good to us.

I am so disappointed she is not there any longer. Dr. Del Angel was great! The support staff however needs improvement. I on't know what we are going to do now!

Update from my previous post: In July 2009 she told us point blank that she did not believe our son was autistic. Fast forward to spring 2010 and the Round ROck ISD's opinion is that he IS, and therefore he was able to enter a preschool program to help him. But we lost time. I realize doctors are not perfect but both the RRISD and a speech pathologist noticed spectrum behavior, and they are NOT doctors. But she, a doctor, did not? Huh? She did acknowledge that he had "speech peculiarities" but that was it. To this day I am still scratching my head. I still appreciate how kind she was, but you can see why I am...perplexed.
